Women’s College, Jharsuguda, the premier institute of Higher Education for women in the district, came into existence on 5th August,1982 thanks to the noble endeavour of the esteemed members of the Jharsuguda Educational Welfare Trust. Since then this institution has been playing a great role in breaking the shackles of superstition and prejudice related to women’s education. In this context the contributions of the donors and other funding members is very much praise worthy. Originally accommodated in Marwardi Vidya Mandir near Police Station, Jharsuguda, this institution was later on shifted to its present location in Mangal Bazar Road on 18 th April,1985.Starting with a few students and a very few teachers, the college had a very promising beginning.
